Reviving the Old Montero

I have inherited an 1st Generation 2-door Montero and am currently working on restoring it. I'm in the process of cataloging all the systems in the car and getting all the info into one place for the purposes of referring back to it and figuring out all the work that needs to be done.

• Fuel Tank Restoration
Took the fuel tank off the car and disconnected the evap control lines and canisters. I also learned the Fuel FIller hose was rotted to oblivion so that'll need to be replaced as well. After some vinegar soaking and washing the fuel tank looked to be in pretty bad shape. I took it to Ray's Radiator to have it sandblasted and recoated to prevent any more rust and debris from entering the lines or rotting through the tank. Now that its freshened up I'll be mapping out the fuel lines and Getting back on the car! 6/16/26 I figured out a place to grap OEM parts from japan! The prices arent my favorite but I can get actual OEM parts and its pretty easy to navigate. Its called Megazip. I'm going to grab a new OEM fuel sending unit from there. 6/18 Megazip has failed me! After paying for the order there suddenly is no part available and they are messaging me to see if they should proceed with the order. Oh well! I found someone in Taiwan who seems to have these Fuel Sending units but its a bit expensive to get over here. I messaged them this morning and If I can confirm the part is compatible that'd be money well spent! I am getting a bit too excited to drive the car.
• Replacing the Fuel lines and emissions system
Since the wheels are off the car this is a good time to check the soft & Hard fuel lines for leaks or rust and replace all the rubber lines, as most of them are probably original based on their rough state.
• Carb Rebuild
• Mapping the engine bay
